Assembly of the connector on the end of the ribbon cable

The connector needs to put put onto the end of the cable once the cable has been threaded through the slot behind where the light sits.

On the plack connector is a triangle on the bump side of the connector. This triangle indicated pin 1. The red wire on the ribbon cable needs to go to this pin 1.

 

The connector stood up ready to be lined up with the ribbon.

Place the ribbon over the connector. Lining up the orginal holes int he cable with the prongs on the connector.

Press the cable onto of the connector.

Slide the clamp on top, this can go either way round.

Squeeze the clamp onto the connector

The next part is called the strain relif, this is an optional part. Dosn't have to be fitted. Roll the cable around the connector to prepart to inser the strain releif.

Squeeze the clamp onto the connector.

Cable ready to be plugged into the control board.
